Hamari Devrani






Hamari Devrani (Hindi: हमारी देवरानी) (English Translation- Our Young Sister-in-law) airs every Mon-Fri 1:30pm,is an Indian soap opera that airs on STAR Plus. The series premiered on May 26, 2008, This is a story of the youngest daughter-in-law of the family Vrinda played by Eva Ahuja. With 951 episodes,this show is one of the longest airing shows in India,however the show ended in 3rd February due to very low rating in the TRP along with Sapnon Se Bhare Naina which used to air in the 2pm slot in Star Plus.

Plot

In a small village of Gujarat,Bhakti (Krishna Gokani) a girl was born to Hasmukh. But just at the time of her birth Hasmukh’s wife died. The Bhakti was blamed for her mother’s death. She was declared bad omen by the village. Eventually, Hasmukh left the village and Bhakti was left to her destiny. The girl’s grandmother raised her in all the adversities. When Bhakti, grew into a beautiful young lady, her grandmother took her to Ahmedabad where her father lived with his second wife. Here, when his wife ill treated Bhakti and her grandmother,they took shelter in a temple.
In the city of Ahmedabad, the Nanavatis were a famous family. Devki was the head of this family. Her husband Purushottam Das had passed away a few years ago. Out of her six sons. Jayant, Sanat, Mukesh, Ketan, Gautam and Mohan, five were married. Mohan who was loved by everyone in the family was very obedient and honest. He had tremendous respect for his mother, brothers and definitely his bhabhis ie. the jethanis viz. Manjula, Parul, Alpa, Jalpa and Rajeshwari. He doted on his bhabhis to the extent that he could hear no ill against them The jethanis wanted their sixth devrani to be quiet and dance around there fingers that why there choose Bhakti.When Bhakti got married the jethanis were very nasty and were always plotting plans, slowly with her innocence Bhakti won the hearts of evreyone including her devranis Bhakti died giving birth to a baby girl called Aastha.
