Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hain set in Rishikesh & then moving to Chandigarh, is a story of two sisters orphaned in childhood post which they had to settle into a middle class, traditional family, after being in hip and happening Delhi. They had to grow up stifling any demands and had to fit into a mould decided by the elders for them. Jeevika is older to Maanvi by 2 years but the difference in maturity is of more than 2 decades. While Maanvi in the process of fixing things always messes them up, Jeevika always makes up for the mess.
